SEA KAYAKING AND CAMPING 
AT ESPIRITU SANTO ISLAND 
(March – May, Ocotber- December
2004)

Enjoy dramatic reddish desert landscapes surrounded by a turquoise blue sea, while paddling in tranquil Baja waters. Or try hiking through cacti covered canyons, snorkeling with sea lions, playing beach volleyball, or drinking margaritas at sunset. These are just some of the exciting activities available on a trip to majestic Espiritu Santo Island. Trips include three to five nights camping with all meals, beverages, camping and kayaking equipment.   

ITINERARY: 
(Two nights at hotel and four nights on island)

Day 1. Trip 
Passengers are picked up at the airport and transported to their hotel. Passengers meet their guide in the evening on arrival day and receive a trip briefing. Passengers can then enjoy a leisure night in La Paz.

Day 2. 
Passengers are picked up by Baja Quest staff at 8:00 a.m. and are then taken to our office to drop off valuable and to pick up rental equipment then are transported to Espiritu Santo Island by motored vessel. Breakfast is provided during the approximately 2.5 hour ride. Lunch is provided after arriving at the island and our campsite. Our guides then give an explanation on campsite use and kayaking skills, including a dunk test. The remainder of the afternoon is spent having fun kayaking, snorkeling, and relaxing. We often provide talks about the island's natural history, sea kayaking, and snorkeling during the trip. We provide cocktails and snacks each evening at sunset. Meals are fresh and cooked on site. Guests are welcome to help our cook prepare meals.

Day 3-5. 
 Full days of sea kayaking (two to five hours per day), hiking in the arroyos and canyons, snorkeling with sea lions, beach volleyball, happy hour at sunset and time for leisure at campsite. Guides will schedule activities considering the guests’ preferences and weather conditions.

Day 6.  
(last of trip). Half-day of whatever activities the group desires. A vessel then transports passengers back to La Paz at noon. Arrival time to La Paz is approximately 4:00 p.m. Rentals are returned to Baja Quest headquarters and valuables are returned to passengers. Passengers then check into hotel and later enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7.
 
Passengers check out of the hotel and are picked up by our transportation company to be taken to the airport.

Trip Includes: Airport transfers, hotel accommodations on first and last nights of the trip at the hotel los Arcos Cabanas (based on double occupancy), boat transportation to and from the island, all trip meals and beverages, naturalist guide, cook, camping equipment, and motor skiff. Kayaks are singles and doubles manufactured by Seda, Northwest, and Wilderness Systems.

Trip Does Not Include: Airfare, meals on arrival and departure dates, airport taxes, crew tips, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, dry bags, or snorkeling gear (equipment rentals are available upon request.)

Note: Final trip confirmation is subject to a minimum number of passengers.
