Quest is a pioneer outfitter who organizes underwater ecounters
with one of the most intriguing, prolific and bizarre looking
animals in the Sea of Cortez, the Humboldt squid. Baja Quest
has lead numerous expeditions for Humbolt squid and has
the expertise to locate the squid and lead the dives in
a safe and enjoyable manner.
Our trip is a minimal of 2 nights-3 days and maximum 6 nights-7
days live aboard, the service is identical to our Dive Cuises
(see service description below) with the variation that
we dive every night of the trip using a shark cage which
is safely installed at the stern of the boat near numerous
lights that attrack the squid. Our day time dives are done
at sites near the areas where the sqiud are found and are
generaly the same sites as the regular dive cruises.
It
is necessary to use the cage as it is a carnivorous animal
that can measure up to 3mts. and weight 70kg.
Common in south America he arrived around the 1970 in the
sea of cortez.
This mollusque in torpedo shape lives in the great depth.
Thanks to its propulsive system it moves fast and smoothly
in its environment. It is an animal of great power and agility.
During this trip, besides the squid encounter, you will
enjoy of awesome dives with rays, sharks, sea lions and
many other fishes.

Minimum experience needed: 50 dives and last dive being
done less than 6 months before the encounter. Diver must
bring their own dive lights (2), posses valid certification
card and dive insurance (DAN) is recommended.
